Power electronics BD5800 low harmonic and regenerative actuators are available

Power Electronics BD5800 low harmonic and regenerative drive obtains A and B1[1] compliance against the toughest symmetric and asymmetric voltage dips defined in IEC61000-4-34.

The new SW control provides nominal torque and power to the motor during voltage dips with a residual voltage over 70%[2]. Thanks to the advanced front end rectifier of the IGBT’s, the drive is capable of automatically increasing the bus voltage and the input current to compensate for voltage dips in the line, ensuring that the power delivered to the motor remains at an acceptable value. This functionality allows facilities with unstable power networks or frequent dips, uninterrupted operation without harmful effects on their processes or machines.

Additionally, in the event of an input voltage less than 70%, the SD700FR drive will perform a controlled shutdown and will automatically provide a flying restart when the mains voltage is restored. The effects on the application depend only on the mechanical inertia of the system and avoid the problems with complex manual restarts or sudden stoppages.
